DESMO hosted our 11th Annual Holiday Party, on Sunday, December 4, in West Nyack, NY, sporting a lot of old friends, and many newer members.
Since we didn't want Sandro D. to win our DESMO quiz for a fifth year in a row, we stacked the deck against him. Actually - we had him write this year's quiz, effectively disqualifying him. This allowed Gary G. to win, taking home all of the glory.
Our raffle, always a crowd favorite, sported some fantastic donations from our favorite sponsors, and some new sponsors. For the third year in a row, Absolute Cycle donated a Season Pass to all of their trackdays. Winner Michelle M.'s face lit up like a Christmas tree when we pulled her name. Paul, of Western Power Sports, demoed some amazing new Spidi gear (including their airbag technology), and we were able to raffle off a sweet Spidi jacket. Please visit here for a list of all of our sponsors. |
For the second year in a row, and to no one’s surprise, Hamza A. won the highly-coveted “Posts the Most” award. Tina H. took home the "Convert from the Darkside", after years of embarassing herself on an under-powered Ninja. This one was long overdue.

We heard a couple of comments that certain members expected to win an award for their "performance" this year. Well, when your friend does a doozie that deserves a Dezzie - make sure you tell us. Otherwise we won't be able to immortalize their acts.

On a more somber note, our long-time president has decided to hang up his hat at the end of the year. Over the past decade, Jon has helped build this club from a casual gathering of Ducatisti, into an organized organization, with regular events, and a life of its own. Thanks for all of your hard work and efforts, Jon.

In addition to Jon's resignation, we've also had some good friends drift away this year, as their lives have changed through marriages, children, and work constraints. This is a great thing for our friends, and we wish them the best of luck. But, it also means that for DESMO to continue to prosper, we need to have more people step up and pitch in. Please contact us if you're interested in helping out. |
